and so it begins. . . .

OK, everyone—EVERYONE—out there who keeps saying, “Do you have a blog? You should have a blog! You have to get your own blog! Why don’t you have a blog??? Blog, blog, blog, blog, blog. . . !” Well, now I have one! Now I’ve got one! Here it is! Welcome to guy2k.

So, now, I have a question for you: Now what?

Do you want politics? Culture? Sports? Fiction? Humor? Rumor? Vicious rumor? A daily journal of everything I eat? How about a diary of my ridiculous hours of sleeping and waking so you all can mock me?

I thought so.

Well, if you’re lucky, you might just get all of the above. . . or at least eight out of nine.

Which leads me to another question: Do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do you?

Well, to tell you the truth (and, to run this strained allusion into the ground in reverse), in all the confusion, I can’t remember what I was supposed to write about. . . .

To steal from another matinee idol—Ted Koppel—things are always awkward and shaky at the start; so, cut the new guy (guy2k) some slack. Let him find his voice; hit his stride. If you don’t, the “network” will just use it as an excuse to replace this blog with yet another comedy/variety show. . . .

Oh, wait, that’s what’s already here.

See you in the funny papers!

PS Yes, I know that "guy2k" is so 1999, but, then again, aren’t blogs?
